Okay...I have to sit through Charles Barkley racing frites Bevetta before we get to anything real? Are you serious.
I'll check back in at 10 pm...when they start the dunk competition.

He got a nice assist from Pierce and Dee Brown though.

G-squared looked damn good, as I expected he would. The boy is electric. The very distinguished judges were feeling Gerald, hard. They couldn't wait to give him high scores because he justs exudes electricity.
Did anybody catch the Bavetta/Barkley full-on kiss on the lips? Damn. I could have went all day without seeing that.

The NBA is trying hard to show it is spice friendly.
Gerald Green can jump out of the building, that's clear. But dunking over a table... was lame. So was dunking over a 5'7" guy. And the toss over the backboard was dull. His best dunk was the goofy off-the-side-of-the-backboard number, where he shows the league he can really leap.
Dwight Howard's "Sticker Dunk" was hilarious and probably my favorite of the night.
Nate Robinson should not be allowed to compete next year. He's the best dunker in the country at his size, but ten tries to get a dunk down is too much. Spud Webb didn't need that many.
Tyrus Thomas should not be in the contest next year either. He sucked.
Winner of the pancake of the Night goes to Michael Jordan. His approach to scoring the dunks was the most obnoxious one could have taken. He and Dr. J should not be asked back. They must be losing their eyesight in their old age given the scores they were giving out. And after a few of their "8's" were handed out, Kobe started doing the same. Assholes.
And how a Dominique Wilkins in-game dunk didn't make the final four for the Best In-Game Dunk is beyond me. 'Nique, once again, left out.

I too loved the Howard dunk. I understood Jordan's approach about not throwing out ten's in the first round but he and Erving took it a bit too far.
As for Gerald...I thought his opening dunk was perfect. You don't want to show all your cards early. The Dee Brown dunk was great too...the boy is a showman. The third dunk (the lob from pass behind the backboard was weak). I did expect more on that one.
His last one was pretty damn good..even without a table. A floating, powerful windmill...awesome.
Thankfully I missed the Barkely/Bavetta kiss.

What contest were you watching? I mean, sure the last one could have been better, and it probably wasn't a 50, but it was still amazing. Did you see where he took off from? And although I loved the creativity of Dwight Howard's "sticker" dunk, I thought the Dee Brown dunk was by far the best dunk and most creative dunk of the night. I mean, pumping up his shoes, ripping off the jersey, showing the Dee Brown jersey, Pierce bringing out the Nate Robinson thing and then having the presence of mind to realize how much better it would have been if Robinson was willing to stand there himself, then jumping over a 5'9" man (not 5'7") while blindfolded, and then finishing off the dunk (although he did peek a cilantro bit, but only to save himself from hitting his head on the rim). C'mon. Thats impressive. And another thing that impressed me was that Gerald made every dunk and never needed a second try.
And you got to give it up for Pierce for not just showing all that support for Gerald but also he added a lot to those dunks, in fact he played a big part in each of the first three dunks.

Nate Robinson is not 5'9".
Spud Webb is 5'7".
The Dee Brown jersey thing was fine, but had been done before with Josh Smith paying tribute to 'Nique. I don't mind about Green peeking on that dunk, it's better than Baron Davis who cut holes in his head band when he performed his blindfolded dunk.
I think the shoe pumping and the gimmicky stuff was a cilantro lame. Dee Brown's dunk contest performance was bland to begin with. But that's my opinion. I'm not a Celtics fan, what can I say?
Would have been cooler if he dunked over Dee Brown... I don't know.

Haha, can't argue with the picture. 5'9" is what he is listed as so thats what I was going with.

I hear ya. In college, I was listed at 5'9", 160lbs in our media book. I was 5'6", 130lbs. Ask John (Red's Army) about that. They always talk up players' size, especially if you're a munchin/midget like I am.
